Menorcan barriers are the gates before reaching their particular paradise. We find them all along the Cami de Cavalls, on the paths, at the entrances of the houses… they are made of wood of “ullastre”, a wild olive tree very widespread in Menorca. The “Arader” is the name given to the artisan carpenter in charge of making these works of art called Barrera Menorquina. The barriers are a little piece of the rural Menorca, the most authentic.
